Sometimes the impact of our Corporate Social Investments are direct and tangible, and sometimes they are not. But with the right motives, we will surely achieve our goals and reach people beyond our efforts.
At our recently concluded annual autism conference, the MC made an announcement:
“Dear attendees, please note that your certificate is of attendance and not of specialisation. This short training has not certified you as an expert but has equipped you with the knowledge you need for now and to seek further knowledge if you want to be an expert.”
A participant approached me afterward, sharing that for her, the certificate was one of hope and possibilities and in her story, she said since her first attendance in 2012, her life had transformed. She had never taken her child out of the house before 2012 but since attending the conference, she now seeks necessary help, takes her child for therapy, and has even formed a community group of mothers who meet and support each other.
Her story was deeply touching and served as a powerful reminder to remain steadfast in our mission. When we support a good cause, we will surely and truly make great impact.
The two-day Autism conference was incredibly enlightening. You can catch the recordings here 👇
